Do You Now Know THEM?

Their frivolous wrangulation(s) has played mute
Heroes past, counts fifty
Reminding us of those promises kept with disdain
That, i counted flinging my clock through the window

Their wallet flat as “ghana-must-go” , filled with foreign currencies
Preaching we are the giant of Africa
Whence, our mothers’ are dressed with stress
Our daughters addressed with rape, maligned and ridiculed

They mare the orphans, maim the widow, made all homeless
My father’s mushroom house has been brought down
Because the intend to build pain and agony
And they call it “urban reconstruction”

They denied our votes in public
Tearing off our confidences and rights in despair
For how long must we be pained?
Blood in the pipeline seizes to clock nine

They have tailored my ideas to suit theirs
Okonkwo said am the leader of tomorrow
Little did i know, he meant, class prefect
Nigeria is not for the young, its reprimanded

Salient silence has echoed our whisper
Our voice had been sold for meagreness coins
Even on tiny truth, lies are conspicuous
How long must we be deceived?

Deceit!!!! You can now go to bed
Am putting off the candle light
What else are the remains of the life?
Betrayed by these canker worms of humanity

Death seems to be sweet
When nation building has proven hard and difficult
But, whom shall the night take along with its blind?
Them them, they know themselves

I know them, don't you know them?
They are the ones with heavy fat cheque(s) and empty skulls
Bloody fools and mediocre(s)
Do you now know them?
